I had a really good browse through the gift shop on iwm.org.uk and was pleasantly surprised. There was a nice mix of books, mugs, toys and little history-related bits, rather than the same generic stuff you see everywhere. I was shopping for my dad and managed to find a few good options quickly. The prices seemed fair too, and I’d guess they put a bit of thought into picking things that actually suit history fans. The website was easy to use, checkout was straightforward, and my order went through without any hassle. I’d definitely use it again for presents

I wasn’t expecting much, but there were a lot of real artifacts and they were kept in good condition, which made it way more interesting than I thought it would be. That said, I did find myself noticing the parts that felt a little underwhelming or could’ve used more explanation. Still, overall it was surprisingly worth checking out.

I had a good time overall and I’m glad I went, but I do kind of regret not checking the exhibit prices ahead of time. The paid exhibits were interesting, just a bit pricier than I expected, so I probably would’ve planned differently or picked fewer of them.

We stopped by the cafe after visiting IWM, and it was fine overall. The food was decent enough and the staff were friendly, which was nice. The coffee was a little weaker than I usually like, and the queue took a bit longer than expected. It did feel slightly pricey for what we got, but it wasn’t a bad experience by any means. A okay spot if you just want a quick break

Went to IWM with my family the facilities made the day so much easier. The toilets were simple to find, clean, and didn’t smell, even though it was busy, which is always a relief when you’re out with kids. The baby changing area was really handy too, so that helped a lot. There were plenty of signs around, so we weren’t wandering about confused or anything, and the cafe/seating areas were decent enough for a quick sit down and... yeah, just a nice break in between. Overall, it made the whole visit feel much smoother. 5 stars from us.

The atmosphere felt heavy, but I’m still glad I went. It’s the kind of thing that sticks with you afterward... not exactly light, but definitely worth seeing

I don’t know. I wanted to get into it, but it just never really grabbed me. A few decent moments here and there, sure. But overall… kind of flat. Not very engaging, honestly.

I’m always a little skeptical when places use a bunch of polished, salesy language to make everything sound amazing, but the exhibits were mostly great. A few parts didn’t quite live up to the big descriptions, but overall I still enjoyed it and thought it was worth checking out.

I reached out asking for help and felt like I was just brushed off. It was frustrating because I expected someone to actually take the issue seriously and follow through. If a customer is asking for support, there should be some accountability instead of making them feel ignored. Really poor service overall

Went to IWM on a Saturday and was fully expecting the usual weekend chaos, which I wasn’t in the mood for. I’m a bit worn out by places that feel crowded, over-managed, and like you’re constantly being shuffled along, but this was actually fine. There were a few busier areas around the main exhibits, but nothing stressful, and we could still stop and read things without people squeezing past. Queues moved quickly, there was enough space to wander at our own pace, and the whole visit felt calm for such a big museum. Really appreciated that. 5 stars from me

I checked out Imperial War Museums before my visit and thought the audio guide info would make things easier, but it didn’t do much for me.

Some bits were fine, but a lot of it felt a little too basic, and when I was actually walking around, it wasn’t always clear what I was supposed to be listening to. I kept stopping to figure out where I was in the guide, which kind of took me out of the moment.
Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood for fiddling with it, and it might work better for others, but I found it more irritating than useful. I was hoping for something smoother and with a bit more depth.

The parking situation kind of ruined the visit for me. There wasn’t really anywhere convenient to park, and getting there felt more awkward than it should have. I tried using the bus, but it was slow, and the walk from the station felt way longer than I expected. On top of that, the reminders beforehand were a bit much, they came across really pushy and aggressive, which just added to the annoyance before I’d even arrived.

I booked through iwm.org before heading to the museum, the whole queue situation was much better than I expected. The staff kept things moving, the signs were easy enough to follow, and it never felt like we were just left standing around. Even though it was busy, everything felt organised and we got inside quicker than we thought. Definitely recommend booking ahead, easy 5 stars from me

I had a really good visit to IWM, and a big part of that was down to our tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, but it never felt like being stuck in a school lesson. He answered everyone’s questions properly, kept things moving, and still gave us enough time to take everything in. I really appreciated how he made the displays easier to understand. Would definitely do another tour there.

I was kind of expecting a little more when it came to the history parts. Some sections felt short, almost like a quick school report or something. The images were nice and made it more interesting to flip through, but overall it just didn’t go as deep as I’d hoped.

I went with my family and overall it was interesting, but I wouldn’t say it was the easiest outing with younger kids. Some parts did keep them occupied, which was nice, but other areas felt a bit too quiet or serious for them, almost like the place was really designed with older children in mind even if it’s presented as family-friendly. The staff were fine and everything was clean, so no complaints there. I just got the sense it works better if your kids are a little older and can stay focused for longer
